The program on this album is a full of variety as any you may ever want to hear.
The reason for this is the fact that Pia Beck, the Netherland's star girl-pianist, has so many cards up her musical sleeve! Her repertoire ranges from a bonney hard-swinging Flip, Flop and Fly to an almost sultry rendition of Ganz Paris träumt von der Liebe, from an early rhythm to the heights of romance!
Versatility has been the Beck trademark ever since Pia - then in her teens - began to make a name for herself in 1946. She was a member of an enteprising little band of Dutch musicians, "The Millers", at the time. Pia played the piano and did a lot of singing and ther was very little in either of these fields which her innate feeling for music and showmanship had not taught her.
